Don't forget about all the jerseys they give away. I remember reading a strory about Travis he gave away all his jerseys at a National and they had to go get him more.
Also just because they come prepared with that much doesn't mean they use it all. Photo shoots, PR stuff etc may all need different gear. MIKE

I read an interview with Scott Taylor awhile back, and he said Ricky and Bubba are encouraged to give their gear away to charities and stuff like that when they are done with them. He also said he usually takes 3 or 4 sets of gear per rider for a race weekend. I aso remeber him saying Bubba wanted new gloves every time out, but Ricky didn't really like new gloves...they needed to be worked in for him.

Don't forget about the interviews and press conferences, they need nice clean gear. The clothing companies don't just give the top guys gear, they are also paying to have it worn. That rider is advertising that company, and they want thier gear to sell! Nobody is going to notice all those bright colours if the jersey is dirty

Even if it is 224 sets per year thats a drop in the bucket compared to the overall cost, considering it's made in some cheap labour sweat shop, more than likely cost $10 to make the comlete outfit.

The guy at Thor said he takes 8 sets of riding gear to a supercross for Tim Ferry each race.

That was last year, though, when they were on the track more.

DV also said on MT that he doesn't like wearing new gear all the time. He hangs on to his riding gear for as long as he can - I guess he also likes to break it in.

What do you think RC and James get paid to wear FOX? When someone signed with ALLOY, DV said it was at least worth $100,000 or more a year.

I hope so! He thanks ''the guys at Parts Unlimited/Thor to make things easier'' EVERY SINGLE TIME there's a camera or a crowd around him. TV guys and announcers should interview him at round 1 and then just use the same interview after every races... No one could notice...
