Decal, no plate. (update)

Postby brewrabb » Sun May 17, 2015 11:16 am

Word is the dirt bike plate has been scrapped for a common sense decal. Small victory I guess. :!

Do you have a source for this? If this is the case I will register my bike, the plate was my deciding factor to not comply with the G-mans new rules.

This is what was sent to another VMC member

Finally!! I have heard from the Minister’s office and they confirm that a decal system will be put in place for all renewals within the next couple of weeks. So riders won’t need to install plates.

I mentioned that the June 1st renewal date is coming up, and the Minister’s assistant assured me that there would be some leeway as they roll out the decal system. More information to come shortly.

They’ve obviously been hearing a lot of complaints about it, and so have responded with this. Thanks again to you for bringing it to Maurine’s attention so that we could make some enquiries and get a response.

Cheers,

Lawrence

Hi everybody, a small update today.. so now for officially perhaps the worst-kept secret around, it is OFFICIAL that we will be using a sticker/decal system of ID'ing ORV's, and mandatory registration has been postponed until November 1st, 2015. May not be on the official website yet, should be by tonight, but it's a fact. Sorry to have been so cagey about this, but it has been a long process, and subject to the confidentiality agreement. However, thanks to consistent pressure from motorized reps in all sectors, we are pleased to have achieved this concession. Read about it here, and thanks for your continued support, Best, Ken McClelland, President BCORMA.

I for one am very glad that we have the groups and individuals in place who are willing able to work with government in addressing issues such as this (instead of just complaining as goons like myself).

There are groups driving these laws in the first place: forest companies, ranchers, granolas,.... Unless people, like the users of MxForum, speak up by writing letters, posting on social media, calling your local MLA, or joining motorcyclist groups like the BCCOM, your voice will not be heard.
