Not 100% sure what i bought

Postby downwithgov » Sat Jul 02, 2016 7:18 pm

I had a buddy hard up for Cash, ( i am too , but not as desperate ) so he asked me if i would buy one of his motorcycles for 400$.

I think it is a YZ125 from Yamaha , but am not sure ....... the frame seems really large for a 125, and the sticker is rubbed off so i cant research any of the frame numbers

The motor has a serial, it is 24X - 0006427

i see that as a yz125K from 1983, but cant find that bike on Yamahapartsnaton.com

perhaps its discontinued ...... too bad cuz its a friggen rank bike

the Chain a sprockets are on the right hand side , which is different than every other yammy i have .....

What you have there is 200 lbs of scrap. That abortion is scary just to look at.

I think you overpaid. Actually, either complete resto or sell for parts.

Looks like my first bike. I think it's a 1982 1/2 Yamahondakawazuki.

It is a 1983 YZ 125. Get a proper tank and seat for that model year, maybe some new bars and good to go. You wouldn't catch me dead riding that bike as it is.
